In the summer of 2019, I interned at Families USA as a Karel Fellow. Being part of the communications team was an amazing experience and I learned so much throughout the course of the summer.
One of the biggest lessons I took away from the Fellowship was, that to be effective communicators, we must be empathetic storytellers. Storytelling is integral to fostering progress and reform because it is our stories, our collective human experiences, that touch hearts and spark change.
After my summer as a Karel Fellow ended, I was invited to present at the Frank Gathering, which was extremely amazing. The Frank Gathering is this super-cool conference that brings together change makers, professionals, researchers, activists, and more, from all around the globe!
Presenting in front of 300+ super qualified people wasn't exactly the easiest thing I've done, but it is one of my proudest moments. Check out my talk below :)
